- Requires State Land Commission to charge appropriate and fair rents for all private recreational piers build over state land.
- SB 170 - SCAQMD: Air pollution
- Gives local air districts the option to negotiate for a share of revenues to reduce pollution and other public benefits.
- SB 179 - Sex Offender Parole
- Ensures that sexually violent predators serve their court-ordered parole. Sponsor: LA District Attorney
- SB 224 - DWR Contracting Authority
- Eliminates costly contract delays for water delivery.
- SB 233 - Physician Assistants/Emergency Rooms
- Removes barriers to PA's working in Emergency Rooms.
- SB 381 - Inter District School Transfers
- Ensures that students continue to be allowed to attend a school in the district where a parent/guardian is employed.
- SB 454 - Energy Efficiency Standards

- SB 502 - Hospital Infant Feeding Protecting Act

- SB 617 - Regulatory Reform
- Improves California's business climate by requiring an analaysis of economic impacts.

- Closes an enforcement loophole in California's lead-containing jewelry law.
- SB 679 - Energy Conservation Projects
- Reallocates $25 million to the CEC to provide revolving loans to local governments for energy efficiency retrofits.
- SB 723 - Domestic Violence Prevention

- SB 1319 - Land Parcel Consolidation
- Voluntary mechanism to merge land parcels on private land for siting renewable energy facilities. Sponsor: The Nature Conservancy
- SB 1404 - Secretary of State/Voting Errors
- Requires voting system vendors and ballot manufactures to notify the SoS of any problems. Sponsor: Secretary of State
- SB 1428 - Wiretapping/New Technologies
- Updates current law to include e-mail, blackberry and text messaging,etc. Sponsor: LA District Attorney's Association
2000-2006
- AB 1493 - Clean Car Regulations
This law required the Air Resources Board to adopt regulations that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles and light duty trucks by 30% by the year 2016. It was the first bill of its kind in the country.

- AB 113 - Poet Laureate
- Established the position of a State Poet Laureate.
- AB 1539 - Preschool Information Act
- Sponsored by the Child Development Policy Institute, this law requires the transfer of information and the coordination between state-supported preschools and the public school. This will allow for the new teachers to effectively and quickly evaluate their students.
- AB 1724 - Green Power Rate Incentives to Local Governments
- Sponsored by the City of Santa Monica, this law restored renewable electricity incentives for local governments.
- AB 2534 - Watershed and Clean Beaches
- Sponsored by the Nature Conservancy, this law provided standards and requirements for loans and grants to public agencies and nonprofits to improve water quality and clean up our beaches. It also required the Resources Agency and Cal EPA to develop a MOU to integrate watershed management programs. This law also formalized the Clean Beaches Task Force Program.
- AB 949 - Statute of Limitations for Sex Offenses

- AB 1070 - Malibu Canyon/Las Virgenes Road Scenic Highway.
- AB 1011 - Indexing of Conservation Easements
- Sponsored by the Mountains Restoration Trust, this law directs County Recorders to record an index of conservation easements.
- AB 1548 - Environmental Education Standards
- Sponsored by Heal the Bay. This law requires the state to establish to establish environmental education standards in the K-12 curriculum.
- AB 1610 - Identity Theft
- Sponsored by CALPIRG, this law required credit lenders to verify that information on credit applications is correct.
- AB 1683 - Child Care Facilities
- Required increase parent notification for any licensed childcare facility that receives a citation that poses an immediate threat to the health, safety and personal rights of children.
- AB 1801 - Guide Dogs
- Sponsored by the Council for the Blind, this law expands current law regarding criminal interference with the use of a guide dog. Read more here.
- AB 2554 - Teacher Retirement
- Sponsored by LAUSD, this law allows for retired teachers to return to service to assist school districts in finding teachers for difficult to fill positions.
- AB 2628 - Hybrids in HOV Lanes
- This law allows for single-occupancy, 45-mpg hybrid vehicles, that meet the AT PZEV air emission standard, to use the HOV lanes on our freeways.
- AB 2901 - Cell Phone Recycling
- Sponsored by Californians Against Waste, AB 2901 requires retailers take back obsolete cell phones at no cost to the consumer. Cell phones have toxics in them and cannot be thrown into our landfills.
- AB 2943 - Mercury in Vaccines
- Sponsored by the Sierra Club, this law prohibits mercury, a know neurotoxin, from being given to children under three or pregnant women. Mercury is used as a preservative in vaccines.
- AB 2962 - Fire Insurance
- Sponsored by the Department of Insurance this helps to clearly define what is actually covered in a homeowner's insurance policy and prohibits insurers from canceling a policy during the course of rebuilding after a fire or other disaster.
- AB 3016 - Social Security Numbers
- This requires credit unions, government agencies and other entities to switch existing account holders from SSN account number to random account numbers.
- AB 32 - Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006
- Sponsored by NRDC and Environmental Defense. AB 32 implements a cap on greenhouse gas emissions at 1990 levels by 2020, a 25% reduction. It also required mandatory reporting from all significant sources of greenhouse gases.
- AB 1007 - Alternative Fuels
- Sponsored by Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2). Required the California Energy Commission and the Air Resources Board to adopt and develop a plan to diversify our fuel supply.
- AB 1507 - Defibrillators in Health Clubs
- Sponsored by the State Firefighters Association, this bill requires that every health club facility purchase and install AED's (Automated External Defibrillators) as well as train personal in their use.
- AB 1548 - Electronic Textbooks
- Authorizes 12 schools to purchase electronic versions of textbooks from publishers.
- AB 1681 - Lead in Jewelry Safety Act
- Sponsored by Center for environmental Health. In order to reduce child and adult exposure to lead poisoning, this bill codified the "global" settlement reached in the Proposition 65 case between CEH, the Attorney General and a large group of retailer and wholesaler defendants. AB 1681 sets a lead content standard.
- AB 2276 - Indoor Air Cleaners
- Sponsored by the American Lung Association, this law requires the Air Resources Board to develop and adopt state regulations to reduce hazardous emissions from non-commercial indoor air cleaning devices.
- AB 2875 - Secret Settlements
- Prohibits a confidential settlement agreement in any civil action relating to a felony offense.
